It’s Friday, I have clothes on, and I am trying to revive this habit. The green cropped cardigan came from Target; I can often smush my fatness into their XL sweaters and I make the most of that fact. The navy and white polka-dot dress is by Jane Bon Bon. The white cotton slip underneath is vintage, from eBay, and after I won it I received a strongly-worded email of abuse from the person I apparently outbid. Grey sneakers are Converse, by way of Marshalls.

I don’t often post outfits during the summer because, frankly, my summer wardrobe is kind of boring. It’s a dress and a pair of shoes. Voilà! That’s pretty much how it goes every day. I took a picture on Friday afternoon anyway. Because it’s been awhile. What you’re seeing above is a Calvin Klein dress — originally $120+, I got it at Ross for $40, and it’s sort of insulting that anyone is expected to pay full price for this thing. It’s not even lined. What’s the $120 for? The label inside? The denim bolero is wicked old and from Lane Bryant. Yes, it is so old that it comes from a time in my life when Lane Bryant was carrying clothing I wanted to wear. The shoes are these oxfords by Report and are somewhat new. Or they would be if I hadn’t been wearing them pretty much every day since I got them.

So there you have it: boring summer outfit. Worry not, my loves, soon fall will descend upon us and I’ll be donning fifteen million layers again.

I caught the last fifteen minutes of the last episode (hopefully forEVER) of Unstapled last night, and felt totally justified in abandoning my recaps. The moral to the story is: nobody learns anything, nothing changes, but at least it’s over. Bust out the champers! On the up side, Chynna Phillips (late of Wilson Phillips) turned out, and was kind of a snarky bitch in the best possible way. On the down side, the reunited W-P sang “Hold On” (oh shit, THAT VIDEO, LOLs-a-million) in Carnie’s living room with Rob on guitar, which means I have that damn song stuck in my head even now, try as I might to scrub it clean with the scouring power of Lady Gaga (oh shit, THAT VIDEO, for totally different and awesome reasons — check out the hot fat chicks enjoying prison life with our heroine). There is also a startling lack of Unstapled reruns on the GSN schedule, which would seem to indicate that the show’s not been doing so well, considering they had been replaying it seven to eight times in a single weekend.

But now, Carnie is out of my life forever, so on to the fatshions.

I mostly spent the past two months wearing a lot of black and therefore being unmotivated to take outfit pictures. I’m currently trying to get back into the habit.
